RESOLUTION CHECK-UP: The Path to Success is Not Always a Straight Line

Have you ever seen that meme that shows the path to success?

It starts with a dot at the lower corner, and there’s a squiggly, messy line to the upper corner, which represents success? 

Because the truth is, success is never a straight line. There are bumps, detours, and maybe even a few roadblocks along the way.

The good news is that this is how we learn and grow. If there was always a straight line to success, EVERYONE would be super successful in every area of our lives.

It’s all about how you handle the bumps, and what you decide to do AFTER you hit them, that matters.

With that in mind, how are you doing on your New Year’s resolutions, intentions, and goals so far?

Are you on-track? Have you hit a couple of snags? Have you made a complete U-Turn?

If you’re a little off track, it’s NEVER too late to redirect your actions.

We ALL hit bumps and detours. In fact, it’s never “if” but “when.”

Listen to this … according to a study a couple years ago by Strava, most people give up their New Year’s resolutions by Jan. 12th!

And only a staggering 8% of people actually achieve their goals.

If that hits a little close to home – but reaching your goals are truly important to you – there IS a way to change your approach that just might make a big difference.

And it’s surprisingly liberating!

What if, instead of focusing on your big, long-term goal to live a healthier, and more active life at your ideal weight...

You simply focus on what you need to do TODAY to move you forward.

Don’t worry about what you’ll do tomorrow, or the next day, or next week.

So as an example, instead of focusing on everything you need to change unhealthy eating habits, just focus on your next meal. Are you going to head through the drive-through? Or are you going to make a better choice and stop at the grocery store on the way home and maybe do some meal prep this weekend?

When we make too many changes at once, it can get incredibly frustrating when something doesn’t go as planned.

All of those factors can make it really hard to follow through, and we end up getting discouraged and eventually give up.

Focusing on your next BEST decision will be game changing for you.

Let’s do something together RIGHT NOW….

Think about the goal you want to achieve.

I want you to do this with me … Do you have your goal in your mind?! 

OK …. so let’s take that goal, and think about the VERY NEXT THING you can do today to help you move closer toward that goal.

What’s that next step for you today?!

Remember the road to success is never a straight line.
